Listen, Empathize, Agree, and Partner (LEAP) Training
May 17 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm MDT
We often think that someone with mental illness is in “denial” when actually there is a medical reason why someone who is mentally ill does not have insight into his/her illness. The LEAP presentation will educate those interested in learning about serious mental illness, anosognosia (when someone is unaware of their own mental health condition), and strategies to support someone living with mental illness, their family, and friends. As a community, we all have a responsibility in learning about the disease of mental illness so that we may understand, work towards eliminating stigma, and prevent violence.
