“Dying to Be Thin” – Opportunities Night Breakout Session | South Summit High School
October 15, 2018 @ 4:30 pm - 8:00 pm MDT| Free
Each year South Summit High School sponsors Opportunities Night for both parents and students. This year CONNECT Summit County will be sponsoring and presenting, Dying to Be Thin, one of four break-out sessions available during the evening.
Eating disorders have the highest mortality rate of any mental illness. During this breakout session, learn how to identify, confront, and understand treatment options for eating disorders including anorexia nervosa, bulimia, and orthorexia, which is exercising and eating ultra-healthy to the point of obsession. The program includes timely news clips, a panel made up of Karen Malm (PhD, Summit Community Counseling), Melissa Taylor MS, LMFT, Center for Change) and Sloane Pitman (survivor), audience Q & A, and important informational takeaways.
