CONNECT Successfully Raises Mental Health Awareness in May!

In May 2016, CONNECT brought national Mental Health Awareness Month to Summit County, organizing more than 20 panel discussions, talks, school presentations and the ‘Brain Storm’ Film Festival under the banner ‘Connecting Hearts and Minds” throughout the County. Its goals were to educate the community about a wide range of mental health issues and to encourage participation in the community needs assessment survey that will help the county set new priorities for mental health services. The events drew attendance of more than 900 people, brought nationally recognized mental health experts and authors to Summit County, and generated ongoing media attention with in-depth programming and relevant topics.
