The capacity to recover from difficulties; toughness.
How has creating or practicing art impacted you in positive ways, making you feel resilient? Share YOUR story of resilience through the medium of art.
CONNECT Summit County, the Park City Summit County Arts Council, Kimball Art Center and the Summit County Arts Advisory Board have partnered to present Images of Resilience with the University of Utah’s Dr. Scott Langenecker on May 22, 2019 in celebration of May Mental Health Awareness Month.
The theme for CONNECT’s May Mental Health Awareness Month is: “CONNECTing Hearts & Minds.” The exhibit will focus on the importance of resilience to adapt and grow while navigating life’s challenges. Resilience can be learned, cultivated and strengthened as individuals realize ways in which they are already resilient.
Summit County residents ages 12 and older are invited to participate in the Images of Resilience program on Wednesday, May 22nd during CONNECT Summit County’s May Mental Health Awareness Month. Participants are asked to digitally submit photographs of original visual art–paintings, drawings, photographs, prints, sculptures, graphic design, etc. that demonstrate (1) how YOU feel resilient or (2) how art is a medium for self-care. Digital art will be showcased and celebrated. Selected artists will be contacted to display their two-dimensional art at the Images of Resilience event.
